The Payroll and Benefits Supervisor will supervise day-to-day Payroll and Benefits activities, including employee payroll administration, benefits administration, Leave and Workers Comp claims processing.
Payroll
Responsible for assisting in calculating, reviewing, verifying, and posting complex payroll; detecting and responding to due dates, errors, and discrepancies; and performing. Related duties as required, thereby ensuring a smooth flow of the payroll process. Assists with training the Payroll Specialists in new and changing procedures, updating the HR director of progress of such on a continual basis. Demonstrate leadership by establishing policies and procedures for accurate and timely processing of transactions associated with the full life cycle of employment. Establish process and procedure improvement across payroll and the employee services function to streamline current processes. Develop and/or assist in the development of general operating goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.

Will have primary responsibility for executing all health and welfare benefits and programs for Car Toys including but not limited to group medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, worker's compensation, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, and leaves of absence.
Job Responsibilities and Skills
- Manage day to day operations for employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other offerings.
- Administer companies leave policies (STD, LTD, FMLA, Paternity)
- Process accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll for all employees.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to benefits and payroll.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits and payroll issues within HR Service Agreements.
- Collaborate with HR team on various projects and initiatives related to benefits and payroll.
- Process commission payments monthly.
- Administer Workers Comp claims including return to work and modified duty assessments.
- Responsible for compliance reporting including Benefits, Retirement and Payroll data reporting. (including 5500, W2, 1095’s and other required quarterly and year end forms)
- Ability to pull ad hoc and required reports and data for integrations/carrier connections and for interdepartmental data with finance.
- Complete monthly enrollment for benefits, including notifying newly eligible, ensuring100% compliance of enrollments or waivers and HRIS system (UKG) entry.
- Auditing of HRIS system entry and TPA Benefit System (Benefit Elect) content.
- Coordinate between payroll and TPA Benefit Systems accurate benefit premium collection.
- Reconcile monthly insurance billings for Car Toys. Prepare and submit necessary action forms or payroll batches for adjustments to prior employee paid benefits. Submit monthly check requests to Accounts Payable department, ensuring receipt of the checks in time for submitting to billing agents by due date.
- Verify the calculation of monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies, reconciling billing variances and payroll deduction variances. Resolve discrepancies Timely.
- Maintain ACA compliance through TPA Administrator (RiskRT).
- Resolve any issues with employees or TPA’s in a Timely manner.
- Assist with the open enrollment process including the development of a communication strategy, preparation of materials and employee education.
- Maintain employee benefit files.
- Maintain relationships with benefit consultants, brokers, and other external providers.
- Author, manage and maintain Benefit‐related policy and procedure.
- Assist in auditing employee timecard corrections, accruals, and approvals via UKG Workforce Management system.
- Receive and compile incoming mail and e-mails for processing and auditing payroll data.
- Process all garnishments timely, accurately and in compliance with all legal requirements.
- Works with the commission analyst on hours recovery items.
- Assists the commission analyst on commission related questions.
- Maintain all payroll records so that they are secure and easily retrievable for research.
- Answer all telephone and email inquiries within 24 hours from receipt of each call.
- Provide exceptional customer service to external and internal customers.
- Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned.
- Train payroll specialists (or other new teammates) on new policy and procedures, and systems.
- Collaborates with accounting team with month end breakouts (benefits, 401K, and FSA)
- UKG Reporting
- Knowledge of payroll processing, tax principles, wage, and hour laws.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2 years of experience in benefits administration and payroll processing using an HRIS, UKG preferred.
- Experience using HRIS time off polices and administering Payroll.
- Knowledge of Third-Party administrative benefits systems (Benefit Elect, Risk RT, etc)
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to benefits and payroll.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in MS Office - with a focus on MS Excel (vlook-up, pivot tables, etc)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Ability to sit at a workstation in an office environment for extended periods of time and work on a PC without limitations.
