  • Summary                                                                                                                                                                          

    The Health System Specialist (HSS) provides comprehensive support and consultation to the Health Services Department of an FQHC clinic network. The HSS is responsible for administrative support, program development/implementation, technical assistance, and coordination of the Peach Tree Health Services care model. The HSS shares responsibility with the Chief Health Officer (CHO), Chief Medical Officer (CMO), and Medical Director (MD) to plan, develop, administrate, manage, operate, and evaluate a comprehensive Health Services program that provides innovative whole person care. The HSS will have a role in developing Health Services department policies and procedures and assisting with the development and implementation of Health Services and multi-departmental projects across the organization. Policies/project topics may include (but are not limited to) Clinical Quality Improvement, federal/state grant funded initiatives, and integrated clinical support workflows. Option for remote work depending on candidate.

     

     Qualifications                                                                                                                                                                          

    • Excellent communication and team building skills, strong ability to organize and lead projects that involve multiple stakeholders.
    • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities, strong ability to meet multiple concurrent deliverables in a large multi-department organization.
    • Background developing health system policies and procedures preferred.
    • Background in Clinical Quality Improvement preferred.
    • Working knowledge of how to synthesize and use data to drive improvement or projects preferred.
    • Background in Community Medicine or experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) preferred.

     

     Work Experience                                                                                                                                                                          

    Three (3) years of health care experience working to support administrative and programmatic functions of a busy clinical department of an outpatient clinic network or hospital.

     

     Education                                                                                                                                                                          

    A bachelor’s degree is generally required, however consideration will be given to candidates with applicable work experience. Work experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis in relation to educational requirements.

     Job Duties                                                                                                                                                                          

    1. Provides support to Health Services senior leadership by analyzing, creating, evaluating, advising, and coordinating health care delivery systems, policies, and organizational wide practice transformation initiatives.

     

    1. In partnership with Health Services, Clinical Quality, and Operations leadership, develops project and workflow implementation across the organization to assure that Peach is meeting internal, health plan, and state Clinical Quality goals. Uses Clinical data to drive improvement.

     

    1. Leads development and implementation of assigned state/federal grant funded programmatic initiatives in partnership with other departments to support population health based whole person care.

     

    1. Creates and Prepares Health Services reports as needed to communicate quantitative and qualitative feedback around organizational objectives. Provides summary reports to leadership team for follow-up.

     

    1. Leads multi-departmental teams to drive program development, implementation and practice transformation.

     

    1. Completes all assigned administrative duties related to the Health Services Department.

     

    1. In partnership with CMO and MD, creates and coordinates all resident and student training rotations at Peach Tree, interfaces with school and university leadership and staff. Provides administrative oversight of training programs to assure excellent standards and compliance with all educational requirements from the schools and universities.

     

    1. Attends all organizational and community wide meetings/committees as assigned to represent Peach Tree interests and priorities. Collaborates with federal, state, and other community organization stakeholders to hit project deliverables.

     

    1. Promotes best practices and assures the Health Services department stays in compliance with all Peach Tree and HIPAA policies and procedures.

     

    1. Stays informed of advancements in the field of Health Systems management, Population Health, and outpatient practice transformation.

     

    1. Identifies areas of growth and development across the organization, makes recommendations for programs to implement advancements of the Health Services Department.

     

    1. Performs other miscellaneous job duties to support the Health Services leadership as assigned.

    Occasionally may travel to other sites to attend meetings or trainings, occasionally overnight for trainings.
