    General Summary

    As Procurement Manager you will be responsible for sourcing equipment, goods and services, managing vendors and completing customer RFQs. To be successful in this role you will show you are able to perform strategic procurement activities with a fiduciary responsibility mindset. You will be responsible for generating, tracking and communicating quoting activities for new and existing customers. Responsibilities include managing direct reports, facilitating quoting activities, approving inputs, ensuring manufacturability, managing projects, assisting with production scheduling, and correcting documentation as it relates to quality and manufacturing issues. The ideal candidate should have thorough knowledge and working background in manufacturing, component level of technical understanding and have excellent customer service and supplier relations skills including negotiation and follow-up.

    Strategic Procurement Project Manager Responsibilities:

    • Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies
    • Tailor ERP system for increased efficiency and clarity
    • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
    • Craft negotiation strategies and closing deals with optimal terms
    • Process purchasing, quality, production, and engineering inputs to quotes.
    • Ensure continual improvement of quoting process.
    • Obtain and review customer documentation for accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability.
    • Interface with customer and internal employees in order to obtain appropriate computer files and documents.
    • Interface with internal and external customers to effectively resolve documentation, quality and production issues.
    • Product design (DFX) and Capability studies.
    • Analyze system requirements, capacity, cost, and customer needs to determine feasibility of a project and development of a plan.
    • Data entry of customer parts and bills of materials.
    • Prepare and manage standard routings
    • Prepare the build plan for the product and write a Statement of Work, if appropriate.
    • Generate turnkey quotations, including labor, material costs, margins and lead times.
    • Ensure that products are quoted accurately to support NPI development and production implementation.
    • Ensure internal documentation and system procedures are timely and accurately completed.
    • Ensure data (item master, routings, etc.) is complete, accurate, and meets customer requirements.
    • Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products and determine product dimensions and tolerances.
    • Drive quote start, creation, and submission to customer with the appropriate Program Manager.
    • Respond to internal turnaround time goals, customer expectations, and customer feedback.
    • Handle projects and other assignments in support of Engineering and Production.
    • Report out on status of quotes including turnaround times and success rates.
    • Develop, implement and maintain department procedures and processes

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Proven working experience in procurement
    • Familiarity with ERP systems. JobBoss a strong plus.
    • Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management
    • Interest in market dynamics along with business sense
    • A knack for negotiation and networking
    • Working experience of vendor management software
    • Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures
    • Solid judgement along with decision making skills
    • Strong leadership capabilities

    Education/Qualifications Requirements:

    • Minimum High School or GED. BS/BA a plus
    • Minimum 3 years purchasing experience

    · Physical requirements: standing for extended periods of time, lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

    • Employee to have reliable transportation
    • Authorized to work in the United States
