By the Bay Health, a non-profit formerly known as Hospice by the Bay, is currently seeking Associate
Bereavement Counselors/Interns (post grad) for our Grief Counseling program in our
Marin, Sonoma and
San Francisco locations. This is a benefitted, partially remote position. We are recruiting now for
Spring 2023.
By the Bay Health follows all CDPH vaccine requirements for healthcare personnel.
Associate Bereavement Counselors provide individual, family, group, and school-based Grief Counseling to bereaved Hospice families and members of the community.
Associate Bereavement Counselors receive:
- Weekly individual and group supervision meeting requirements of the BBS.
- A wide range of applicable educational in-services and learning opportunities.
- An hourly stipend and benefits
- Extensive training in clinical documentation in an electronic medical record.
- Development of Associate Bereavement Counselor's theoretical orientation in a supportive environment.
- Professional counseling experience in a fast-paced medical agency
Prospective candidates must:
- Hold a master’s degree from an accredited master’s degree Program in Counseling Psychology or Social Work. Appropriate registration with the BBS required.
- 1 years of experience conducting on-going counseling preferred (virtually or in-person).
- Be knowledgeable about Loss and Grief Counseling techniques.
- Be able to commit to 24 hrs./week, including one evening per week, (on an intermittent basis), for a minimum of 18 months as well as travel to satellite sites, as needed.
- Have availability which includes Wednesdays and either Mon. or Fri.’s. & the 1st Wednesday of each month.
- Be proficient in basic Microsoft Office applications. Experience with documentation in an electronic medical record preferred.

Pay Range:
$30.00 - $36.00 hourly
