    The Beverage Manager at Suncadia Resort is a dynamic and strategic role requiring collaboration with the Food & Beverage leadership team to enhance the resort's beverage programs. This position involves developing menu programs, managing inventory, and providing exceptional service while meeting the company's strategic objectives. The Beverage Manager will always conduct themself in a professional manner with a demeanor that supports the purpose and values (supporting behaviors) at Suncadia. The Beverage Manager shall always strive to provide exceptional service to both internal/external guests and team members. They will be responsible for exemplifying the Suncadia Resort Culture as well as promoting Suncadia Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice! 

     

    Annual Salary: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00

    Responsibilities

    • Team Leadership: Interview, train, and manage beverage staff. Provide regular mentoring and counseling. 
    • Preparation and Communication: Actively participate in pre-shift and departmental meetings, ensuring key beverage program information is communicated effectively. 
    • Pricing Strategy: Work with the Director of Restaurants, Bars and Events to set pricing strategies that are competitive and profitable. 
    • Inventory Management: Oversee all beverage inventories, ensuring accuracy, cost control, and proper ordering practices. 
    • Service Excellence: Offer direct guest service as necessary, from serving to bartending. 
    • Compliance and Training: Oversee training for responsible alcohol service and maintain up-to-date knowledge of WSLCB regulations. 
    • Vendor Relations: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers under the guidance of the Director of Restaurants, Bars and Events. 
    • Menu Development: Collaborate with managers and department heads to design cocktail programs for each outlet. 
    • Operational Support: Assist in managing shifts and outlet operations in the absence of other managers. 
    • Product Knowledge: Maintain comprehensive knowledge of beverages, including wines, liquors, beers, and non-alcoholic options. 
    • Inventory Samples: Manage and document samples from suppliers for training and tasting, ensuring no misuse of products. 
    • SOPs and Checklists: Develop and implement Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) and checklists to streamline operations. 
    • Storage Management: Keep beverage storage rooms organized and well-stocked in coordination with the purchasing department. 

    Qualifications

    The Beverage Manager position at Suncadia Resort is geared towards a passionate, driven individual who can effectively manage and elevate the beverage experience for guests within a luxury environment. This role requires a blend of creativity, strategic planning, and the ability to execute precise operational management. The right candidate will have a balance of analytical skills for inventory and cost control, people skills to lead a diverse team, and the agility to meet the dynamic needs of the resort's clientele. 

     

    • Education: Bachelor’s Degree Preferred. 
    • Experience: At least 3 years of service experience in a high-end establishment, with a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory role. Previous beverage buyer experience is a must. 
    • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Micros, and Outlook. Experience with various POS systems is crucial. 
    • Availability: Must be flexible with working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and adapt to a varying schedule based on business needs.
