    Summary: National Food and Beverage is currently seeking a Production Supervisor-1st  Shift to ensure that production resources are adequately allocated to efficiently achieve the weekly production demand. The Production Supervisor will evaluate the rate of production labor usage and design reports to demonstrate those efficiencies. They will provide support to keep downtime and overtime to a minimum by ensuring proper training and communication with other team members. The supervisor will coordinate with R&D to ensure that new product launches are successful utilizing current equipment and plan and execute any additional facility needs associated with new projects. They will work cross-departmentally with Quality Assurance to ensure that all product produced meets all safety and quality specifications ensuring that production employees are trained and following all designated procedures.


    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Maintain and implement Food Safety procedures with the production team members partnering with Quality Management.
    • Responsible for maintaining all production-related documentation and records, specifically batch records
    • Evaluating and recommending all necessary equipment for production
    • Maintain Key Performance Indicators for the operations to help meet production specifications and product standards, as well as reduce overall cost, maximize productivity and profitability
    • Responsible for the supervision, development, and motivation of hourly employees
    • Must be capable of learning and using the Accounting and Manufacturing systems used by NF&B with a high skill level.
    • Verify machine control settings for accuracy and performance, ensuring that all department leaders are appropriately trained in established settings.
    • Maintaining all safety-related initiatives, ensuring proper and complete training on handling emergencies, and full documentation (Internal and External)
    • Monitoring all aspects of the production function, including scheduling and supervision of all production associates to align with established production throughput rates.
    • Oversee and ensure the quality, food safety, and consistency of all NF&B Foods products by enforcing all monitoring activities of production personnel for specified parameters to meet customer specification requirements
    • Support the compliance with, and maintenance of, all food safety and regulatory programs
    • Training the employees for the critical points of the food safety system
    • Maintain Key Performance Indicators for the operations to help meet production specifications and product standards, as well as reduce overall cost, maximize productivity and profitability
    • Removing equipment that needs repair from processing area if the line is still processing
    • Responsible for notifying QA & Sanitation Department when equipment has been repaired, and it’s ready for a wash down
    • Responsible for having equipment ready and calibrated before the start of production each day
    • Maintain OSHA Safety compliance in the facility for the Operations team.

    Qualifications:

    Experience:

    • 5 years of experience within a Manufacturing Facility or in a food quality assurance capacity is required.
    • Strong food production background required, preferably with a soup, sauce, dressing facility.
    • Mechanical skills a plus!

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    Technical Knowledge- detailed Knowledge of product manufacturing, including specification achievement based on facility capabilities.

    Communication Skills- excellent verbal and written ability to provide actionable reports on projects.

    Budget/Cost Control- general understanding of departmental budgeting and cost control functions.

    Judgment/Decision Making- ability to make appropriate business judgments and decisions independently. Demonstrated ability to perform strategic thinking and planning.

    Problem Solving- ability to independently work through complex problems and derive innovative solutions/options focusing on business implications.

    Interpersonal Skills- Ability to work as part of a diverse team and interact effectively with all levels of management; ability to build cooperative, productive relationships with internal clients and vendors

    Strategic Management-ability to develop distinctive strategies to achieve competitive advantage; translate broad strategies into specific objectives and action plans; complete multiple projects efficiently and on time, and work with minimal supervision.

    Computer Skills- working Knowledge of Microsoft Office-based software, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

    Additional Information:

    · Pay: $55k - $65k annually

    · Shift: 1st  Shift Monday – Friday 4am  weekends as needed

    · Work Week: Full-time 40 hours per week

    · Language: Must speak English and Spanish fluently, must read and write English fluently
