Position Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor directs and coordinates activities of maintenance techs and maintenance leads. Manages materials, machines, entire maintenance area and is responsible for ensuring all preventative and reactive maintenance for all facility and operational assets is completed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Assist Manager with directing/managing/coaching/mentoring personnel as needed
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include night shift, overtime, and weekends to support a plant that manufactures 24/7
- Must maintain a personal inventory of tools necessary to perform the requirements of the position
- Must have exceptional diagnosis and troubleshooting skills as required in a manufacturing plant
- Must have a high sense of drive, initiative, sense of urgency, and pride to support a high volume, high speed manufacturing plant
- Must be able to troubleshoot and repair pneumatics (air cylinders, electro-pneumatic solenoids, etc.)
- Must be able to troubleshoot and repair basic hydraulics (cylinders, motors, solenoids, etc.)
- Must be able to troubleshoot and repair pumps (centrifugal, positive displacement)
- Must be able to troubleshoot and repair process fluid transmission (manual valves, electrical valves, pneumatic valves, check valves, basic piping configuration)
- Must be able to troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate process monitoring (temperature, pressure, level, flow) and equipment (gauges, meters, transducers, transmitters)
- Must be able to lead others in a team based environment
- Must have basic electrical skills (motor replacement, sensor replacement, fuse replacement, understanding of PLC’s, understanding of sensor functions)
- Must be computer literate (HMI Interface, HMI setup, email, data logging)
- Must understand machinery timing (stroke, timing, position, dwell, cams)
- Must be able to comply with food GMP standards
- Must be able to read, understand, and follow machine manuals, mechanical drawings, SOP’s, PID’s
- Must be detail oriented and able to comply with necessary documentation (work orders, parts inventory removal, etc.)
- Other duties may be assigned
Position Requirements:
. High School Diploma is required; Associates Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is preferred
. 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Competency and Qualification Requirements:
The individual should possess the necessary technical skills to effectively perform the essential duties and adapt to changes made in the work environment. The individual should execute the duties while maintaining a professional attitude with encouraging team work and an ethical approach. The individual needs to promote the company’s Mission Statement and demonstrate commitment to the safety and quality of the food produced. The individual needs to have a willingness to follow direction and problem solve to generate suggestions for improving the work environment. The individual must have a bachelor’s degree (preferred) with 5 years of related supervisory experience and/or training.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work in wet, humid, and outdoor conditions. The employee is also exposed to varying temperature extremes including heat and cold as the weather varies. The employee is occasionally exposed to work on elevated platforms, with fumes or airborne particles, or with toxic or caustic chemicals. This employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee will regularly lift and/or move 50lbs and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs. Specific detailed vision abilities are required by this job, including Distance vision, Color Vision, Peripheral vision and Depth perception. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, have dexterity of hands, reach with hands and arms, and communicate.
