    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Maintain a safe work environment by meeting company policies and OSHA regulations.
    • Maintain overall equipment reliability.
    • Meet daily with production supervision and staff to understand critical issues for the day.
    • Foster an environment of continuous improvement.
    • Work with planners/scheduler to coordinate maintenance work tasks.
    • Determine the schedules (daily, weekly, vacations) and workload for staff.
    • Oversee and administer duties relating to the computerized maintenance system.
    • Assess and schedule staff training needs.
    • Evaluate staff and make hiring and termination regulations.
    • Comply to and enforce company and regulatory rules and procedures.
    • Maintain budget and advise on budgetary/financial needs.
    • Maintain effective working relationships and cooperation with the management team to effectively meet departmental and company objectives.
    • Assist in developing and implementing goals, objectives, policies and work standards for the department and company.
    • Must have leadership skills
    • Sharp analytical and critical thinking skills.
    • Knowledge of the principles and practices of employee supervision and safe maintenance activities.
    • Conduct yearly staff performance reviews.
    • Follow all safety, food safety, & GMP rules and regulations.
    • Conduct other duties as assigned by management .

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Direct reports are Maintenance Mechanic A, Maintenance Mechanic B, and Electronic Technician.

    WORK INSTRUCTIONS TO POSITION SOPs are critical to meet customer specifications and maintenance of food safety, quality and process efficiency. Operator’s manual available on each line.

    WORK SAFETY Ensures that all tasks and functions of position are performed in a safe manner at all times and that all procedures and requirements are properly followed to accomplish assigned tasks.

    FOOD SAFETY/QUALITY Responsible for food safety and quality as well as reporting food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority if unable to initiate action.

    BACKUP COVERAGE In the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Plant Manager shall be responsible to make provision to cover the absence with a qualified associate to assume the job duties .

    FOOD SAFETY CULTURE Promote a culture of s hared values, beliefs and norms that affect mind-set and behavior toward food safety in, across and throughout an organization .

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE HS Diploma or equivalent. 5 years of experience in maintenance. 2 years of trade school. 5 to 10 years supervisory experience. Must be able to attend all job related training classes to increase job knowledge and improve job performance. This also encourages confidence and sense of accomplishment.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and understand standard operating procedures and customer specifications. Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts using calculator.

    REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    COMPUTER SKILLS Basic computer skills and proficiency in Windows Office Suite.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS None

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS As required to attend off site training and meetings as needed.
