Billing Specialist jobs in Florence, AL

The position is full-time Monday-Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

• Working payor A/R with EMR to troubleshoot medical claims
• Calling insurance companies to inquire about past-due claims
• Working patient A/R for collections
• Assist with posting electronic remittances (ERA) from insurance companies such as Medicare, Medicare Advantage plans, BC, Medicaid, commercial, etc.
• Talking with patients about their accounts
• Obtaining insurance referrals when required
• Posting hospital and dialysis charges
• Errands such as bank deposit and accountant office
• One late night a week in the front office
• Assist in answering the phone to make appointments, rescheduling appointments when needed, messages, answering patient questions about accounts, etc.
• Benefits after a 3-month probationary period:
• Holidays (paid): New Years Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• PTO: 96 hours in the first year followed by 136 hours in the second year
