Description
General Summary: Provide accounting support and customer service for Goodwill South Central WI’s operations and mission programs. This role includes data entry, invoice preparation for various funding sources, monthly reconciliation with accounting records, and grant or program reporting databases. A Billing Specialist is also responsible for statistical reporting to various funding sources, collaborating with the managers of our mission programs and/or operations.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Accurately and efficiently enter data into accounting software and excel.
- Review billing invoices for compliance with contract, funder, and supported employment policies and requirements. Work directly with management and the Accounting Department to resolve deficiencies quickly.
- Compile and submit a monthly report to Goodwill management which includes a summary of identified deficiencies, corrective actions taken, and recommendations for improvement, if any.
- Prepare monthly summary expenditure reports for fiscal, management, and Mission program staff.
- Prepare monthly and YTD summary report of staff billable revenue.
- Submit data for billing and prepare invoices for funder payment request.
- Generate quarterly accounts receivable report for reconciliation with Accounting Department.
- Prepare monthly SSI/SSDI report of consumer earnings to Social Security Administration.
- Professionally compose basic reports, emails and other correspondence.
- Sort and prepare documents for data entry, verify work against data printouts, and make corrections as necessary.
- Responsible for data submission for billing and preparing invoices for funder payment request.
- Perform other clerical duties as needed, such as filing, photocopying, faxing, and collating.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates’ degree or 2 years college preferred.
- 1-2 year professional experience in accounting or related field.
- Proficiency in MS Office and willingness to become proficient with accounting software.
