Billing Supervisor jobs in San Jose, CA

Currently seeking a dedicated and qualified individual to join our team as a full time Medical Billing and Collection Specialist.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software including electronic and paper claims
• Audit claims for correct ICD-10 and CPT procedure codes
• Ensure accurate patient medical information and is up to date
• Follow up on unpaid claims within the standard billing time frames
• Call insurance companies regarding any discrepancy of payment
• Research and appeal denied claims
• Identify and bill secondary insurances
• Collect and review referrals and pre-authorizations
• Answer all patient and insurance telephone inquiries
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor

• Minimum 1 year of billing and collection experience
• Experience with medical billing and the collection of claims with HMO and commercial payers
• Proficiency in the use of CPT and ICD-10 codes
• Strong knowledge of EPIC EHR, eClinical Works, SourceMed, All Scripts or ASC/Akmai systems
• Understanding of EOBs, copays, deductibles, various insurance plans, Medicare, Medi-Cal, and contract adjustments
• Professional demeanor
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Keen attention to detail with high degree of accuracy
• Excellent organizational and problem solving abilities
• Adherence to HIPAA regulations

Pay Scale/Ranges:

$25.00-$30.00/hour
