Billing Systems Manager manages the daily operations of the billing system. Ensures the operations and associated procedures of billing systems are efficient and effective for billing delivery. Being a Billing Systems Manager develops and implements new billing solutions to improve departmental efficiency and accuracy. Helps develop strategies for system integration of future technology. Additionally, Billing Systems Manager may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Billing Systems Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Billing Systems Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Must display a friendly, helpful, and competent manner to all patients; Assumes responsibility for all activities relating to the administrative supervision of Coding Staff, Billing staff, Credentialing Staff, Medical Records Requests, etc including problem identification/resolution and continuing education. Works closely with the Billing and A/R Collections team in a supportive role in the overall operations of the Billing Office; Professional Coder Certification (CPC) is preferred but not required.
