Detailed Job Description
The Bindery Associate operates assorted equipment to finish printed materials. Although most of the time the tasks are done using power equipment, we also do kitting and other hand assembly types of work. In addition, the Bindery Associate will package jobs in preparation for delivery or pick up, or move the work in a logical manner to the Mail Services area if the pieces are being mailed.
The equipment the Bindery Associate operates includes power cutter, folder with right angle, booklet maker, digital creaser/folder, 3 hole drill, business card slitter, assorted smaller bindery devices (comb and coil binders, padder, single drill, round cornerer, shrink wrapper), and other miscellaneous equipment from time to time.
The Bindery Associate reports to the Production Manager, and takes direction from the Lead Pressman as needed or determined by workflow. The Bindery Associate will provide guidance to student employees assigned to this area.

Minimum Qualifications
HS Diploma/GED
2 - 3 years of experience in a print shop, mail house or other associated type of business

Ability to remain focused when doing repetitive tasks

Ability to transition from one task to another; may be asked to do many different types of work within the day; may need to make adjustments to scheduled tasks due to customer needs, equipment issues or other similar situations.

Comfortable working with and around machines

Able to lift and move 50lbs; able to stand for extended periods of time
Tow motor/fork lift certification is a plus
PLEASE NOTE: The individual hired for this position will be required to have a pre-employment Motor Vehicle check, and the Motor Vehicle Report must clear RIT's Safe Driving Policy. (see Page 4)
