Bindery Technician performs various machine and manual operations to complete print binding and finishing processes. Completes tasks including measuring, cutting, collating, inserting, folding, stapling, or gluing to produce finished bound products. Being a Bindery Technician sets up, operates, tends, and maintains bindery equipment. Inspects equipment for malfunctions, troubleshoots and resolves problems. Additionally, Bindery Technician follows all required quality and safety procedures. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Bindery Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Duties:
- Set up and operate bindery equipment such as cutters, folders, stitchers, and collators
- Monitor production process to ensure quality and efficiency
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment
- Follow job specifications to produce finished products according to customer requirements
- Inspect finished products for defects and make necessary adjustments
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Bindery Operator or similar role
- Knowledge of color management, prepress, screen printing, machining, CNC, graphic design, and layout design
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant software
- Ability to fabricate and assemble printed materials
- Familiarity with print advertising and production processes
Skills:
- Attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Good communication skills
