Biochemist evaluates the physical properties of various living organisms in order to investigate their applications to medicine and other industries. Requires a bachelor's degree and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Being a Biochemist has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Additionally, Biochemist works under immediate supervision.   • Bayer Crop Science in Chesterfield, MO is seeking a skilled researcher to join the High Throughput Protein Production Team. Candidates should have a strong background in recombinant protein production or similar experience. Experience with laboratory automation and data entry is preferred. The team is fast-paced and timeline driven. Successful candidates are expected to have the ability to work in a team environment with strong written and oral communication skills.


    Responsibilities include:

    ? Expression of recombinant proteins using a variety of expression systems

    ? Protein purification and/or sample preparation of expressed protein as required

    ? Deliver results in a timely fashion

    ? Maintain proper records and documentation

    ? Manage inventory and perform lab management tasks such as placing orders with vendors


    Required skills and experience:

    ? Minimum of Bachelor?s degree in Biology or Biochemistry. Masters degree preferred.

    ? Minimum of two years of relevant work experience.

    ? Hands on experience in the area of protein expression and purification

    ? Proficient with LIMS usage

    ? Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based environment

    ? Strong written and oral communication skills

    ? Experience with automation equipment preferred
