Avanti is a manufacturer of non-woven fabrics in the field of medical, hygiene, industrial and agricultural products. We are seeking a Process Engineer immediately for full-time hire!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Plan and manage the installation and commissioning of new equipment for the manufacturing facility. Perform IQ, OQ and PQ testing on new equipment.
• Direct continual process and machinery improvements throughout the facility.
• Prepare written communications for installation procedures, review and create concept to construction drawings, also coordinate engineering changes during construction.
• Guide maintenance and technicians in troubleshooting production machinery and auxiliary equipment; recommend improvements.
• Assist in coordinating activities for PM and major shutdowns, including awarding contracts, procuring materials, and sequencing of work.
• Implement and manage preventive maintenance system to have a better reliability and integrity on the machinery.
• Work within computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to create, approve and assign and manage work orders though company/third-party systems along with the maintenance manager.
• Review, update and manage Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure that work is done safely and efficiently. Assist Plant Manager to effectively collaborate with and seek input from operators and other staff to develop SOPs.
• Administer all activities and assist in manufacturing of all new products and recommend improvements to existing products.
• Use statistics and statistical process controls to confirm plant operations, capability, reliability and quality. Develop effective countermeasures when problems or nonconformance are uncovered in conjunction with the quality department.
• Utilize six sigma tools to drive scrap reduction and increase productivity in the all departments in the plant.
• Prepare and review project drawings/specifications to ensure compliance with OSHA environmental/quality standards, and federal, state and local environmental laws in conjunction with the safety manager.
• Analyze all equipment requirements and assist in requisition of all tools and equipment with the help of the Procurement department.
• Work with the Procurement department to assist on raw material requirements for production equipment.
Key Performance Indicators for Successful Candidate:
• Uptime hours of machinery in the plant
• Time for diagnosis and resolution of technical difficulties faced in the plant
• After hours availability for plant support if and when required
• Successful plant improvement projects, planned, managed and implemented
