    Position Description:
    Modine Manufacturing Company in Grenada, Mississippi is hiring for an EHS Engineer to join our team to support continued EHS programs and initiatives at the plant level!  This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in manufacturing EHS to leave a lasting impact on processes and procedures within the plant.
    Recognized within Modine as a technical resource for governmental and company environmental and occupational health & safety requirements, the EHS Engineer must demonstrate leadership in Environmental Management System (EMS) and corporate Safety Program management. They must also possess the ability to understand and manage EH&S matters with a clear comprehension of their role within the business operations.
    This position will operate under normal business hours and is onsite at our plant in Grenada, Mississippi.  This position will report to the Operations Manager in the plant, and frequently collaborate with Modine Corporate EHS personnel.
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Ensure compliance to all applicable governmental regulations and internal EH&S policies.
    • Follow emerging regulatory developments, assess their potential impact on the company, and institute programs to achieve compliance in an efficient manner.
    • Share accountability and responsibility with management to provide guidance and leadership in identifying opportunities to continuously improve performance and attain EH&S objectives.
    • Provide effective internal communication of EH&S issues.
    • Actively promote and foster a Behavior-Based Safety culture dedicated to eliminating “at risk” behaviors and unsafe conditions.
    • Provide technical environmental expertise in combination with knowledge of the company’s manufacturing and business processes to minimize waste.
    • Possess understanding and apply available technology and equipment to control and mitigate air and water pollution.
    • Collect, analyze, and utilize EH&S metrics to eliminate environmental and safety risks and support attainment of company objectives.
    • Provide EH&S support and expertise at multiple assigned facilities.
    • Coordinate and conduct Safety Assessments and Environmental Audits, support and ensure implementation of corrective and preventative measures addressing findings.
    • Continuously improve technical knowledge relevant to the position.
    • Develop, plan, organize, and administer EH&S training.
    • Possess self-motivation, leadership, strong team skills, maintain a positive attitude, and possess a high level of integrity.

    Required Qualifications:
    • Between 1-3 years of experience working in an EHS related position, particularly in a manufacturing environment.
    • Prior experience with OSHA guarding standards, worker’s compensation processes, and other OSHA and EPA guidelines.
    • Experience with overseeing safety related to equipment movement, installation, and transfer.
    • Prior experience with industrial ergonomics and implementing ergonomic controls to prevent injuries.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    Education Requirements:
    • A bachelor’s degree in a related EHS field, occupational safety, or environmental engineering/sciences.
    • While not required, PE, CIH, CHMM, or CSP certification would be beneficial.

    Travel:
    • Travel for this position is measured at up to 10% planned travel to participate in audits and safety assessments at other Modine locations.
