Conducts research and testing to address specific medical conditions, improve the performance of existing devices, and develop new products. Being a Biomedical Engineer collaborates with medical professionals to gather information for product specifications. Ensures that designs and devices meet regulatory, safety, and quality requirements and standards, such as the FDA regulations and ISO standards. Additionally, Biomedical Engineer utilizes or develops software to perform testing or integrate with devices. Requires a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering or a related engineering or science discipline. Typically reports to a manager. The Biomedical Engineer work is closely managed.     Summary

    Provides Planned Maintenance (PM), safety testing, repairs, calibration, installation, routine and emergency service to general diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment such as Networked Patient Monitors, Electrical Surgical Devices, Defibrillators, Nurse Call system, as assigned by the Biomedical Department Manager.

     

    Position Reports To: Biomedical Department Manager


    Essential Functions

    1. In addition to all requirements of a Biomedical Tech I, performs tasks such as the installation, calibration, inspection, preventive maintenance, and repair of medical equipment.
    2. Assists in the development and implementation of equipment management programs.
    3. Maintains appropriate documentation related to work assignments, parts, and equipment usage.
    4. Travels to locations away from Wenatchee to perform job related tasks.
    5. Works directly with users of medical equipment when evaluating equipment inspections.
    6. Meets with manager to discuss repairs and inspections that require equipment down time that is abnormal.
    7. Schedules and prioritizes work effectively with departments.
    8. Notifies manager when equipment is out of the scope of their knowledge.
    9. Requests materials in a timely manner.
    10. Understands and complies with code and evacuation procedures.
    11. Uses national and manufacturers standards when performing repairs and inspections.
    12. Troubleshoots to the component level on microprocessor/multi based circuitry.
    13. Other duties as assigned.

    Position Requirements

    Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 is an essential requirement of working at Confluence Health. Religious and medical exemptions will be considered upon request.


    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Associates degree in Biomedical Technology, or Military Degree in Biomedical Technology.
    • Five years’ experience as a Biomedical Technician.
    • Valid Driver’s License, and verifiable liability insurance.


    Desired
    :

    • Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET).
