Biomedical Engineering Director directs and coordinates biomedical equipment service operations that provide lifecycle management of biomedical clinical and research equipment including safety testing, repair, maintenance, and user support. Establishes standards and procedures for equipment maintenance, testing, calibration, documentation, and inventory processes. Being a Biomedical Engineering Director provides technical leadership and develops applicable training and resources for medical staff to ensure correct and safe operations of all equipment and devices. Works with vendors to maintain up-to-date information about new products and equipment upgrades. Additionally, Biomedical Engineering Director supports the equipment needs of all specialty areas including Radiology, Clinical Pathology, Cardiology, Respiratory Therapy, and others. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director or head of a unit/department. The Biomedical Engineering Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Biomedical Engineering Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Flavor Processing Innovation: You will work with your team to develop innovative best-in-class manufacturing solutions for the expansion of capacity and or process improvements of our products. Your range of experience will support improvements in our processing productivity while optimizing the use of capital. You are empowering our people-culture by designing complex systems that are easy to use and safe to operate. You successfully manage a variety of processing projects and new plant designs that will help scale our production capabilities.
    Packaging Line Guru: You identify the best-in-class advancements for filling and packaging equipment as you lead the implementation of syrup capacity improvements and entire package line designs. You will design and successfully complete cold and hot filling applications. You understand how to make and operate the self-manufacture of PET bottles using the latest bottle blowing systems. You are a respected thought partner for the Procurement team when it comes to packaging equipment negotiations and maintenance agreements.
    Continuous Improvement Champion: Your passion for streamlining operations to continuously improve OEE will fuel the successful implementation of reliability improvement programs. You will apply your working knowledge of lean 6 sigma tools to identify root cause and eliminate inefficiencies and waste. You work with our team to implement preventative maintenance programs that sustainably increase our uptime performance.

    Capital Project Management Expert: You will lead and support several of the Engineering team’s multi-million-dollar food and beverage projects from successful startup to full production operation. You will also lead your team through the capital project prioritization process to identify the projects that best support Torani’s safety and business objectives. Your experience designing and implementing facilities, systems and documents will allow us to meet all the local and state permits and codes. You will be responsible for the design supervision and management of a sizable portion of a strategic capital project.

    You’ll be successful in this role if you have….
    • B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (other disciplines may be considered).
    • 10 years of prior experience successfully managing engineering teams.
    • Expertise in all facets of process design of best-in-class automated high-volume processing Food, Beverage, or Bioprocessing facilities.
    • Successfully managed at least one food, beverage, or bioprocess and or packaging related capital project from design to construction with a value of greater than $15 Million successfully, PMP certification a plus.
    • Experience developing PFDs, P&IDs, construction documents, and have built complex processing systems greater than $10 million.
    • Specification and selection of high-speed bottling equipment, Monobloc Fillers, Labelers, Capsular, Vision inspection, Case Packers, Depalletizer and Palletizers.
    • Experience or knowledge of Hot fill or aseptic filling design, equipment, and operations.
    • PET bottle blowing equipment and operations is a plus.
    • Negotiation and purchasing of equipment and maintenance agreements.
    • Project experience ensuring drawings and construction closeout meet all local and state permitting requirements.
    Base Salary Range: $187,000 - $228,000
