Biomedical Engineering Technician delivers biomedical equipment services that provide safety testing, repair, maintenance, and user support of biomedical clinical and research equipment. Assembles, installs, repairs, and maintains a variety of medical equipment. Being a Biomedical Engineering Technician tests the functionality of equipment and takes accuracy, sensitivity, and selectivity measurements to calibrate devices. Coordinates with medical staff and vendors to troubleshoot problems, resolve equipment malfunctions and enable new devices. Additionally, Biomedical Engineering Technician supports medical staff with equipment operations training. Typically requires an associate degree. Typically requires Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Provides Northside Hospital management & oversight to the outsourced Biomedical Engineering Department. Responsible for process and operations improvement, industry best practice research, performance monitoring, resource allocation, and statistical analysis. This position requires an individual that is a self-starter, has the ability to proactively manage projects and multiple priorities, works both collaboratively and autonomously with minimal supervision on broadly defined assignments, demonstrates tact and diplomacy in situations of conflict and controversy, and demonstrates excellent communication and presentation skills. In addition, this position requires an individual who possess the skills required to: . Develop detailed project plans to include project tasks, timelines, resources, and status . Build relationships with client departments . Identify and resolve issues through cross-functional teams. Analyze, develop, and report recommendations to enhance department operations. Design and effectively implement change to achieve project goals
1. Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Health Systems Engineering, Healthcare or Business Administration
2. Three (3) years experience in management engineering, industrial engineering, operations improvement, healthcare consulting, or healthcare supervision.
3. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Ability to use Microsoft MANAGER BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING OPERATIONS
PREFERRED:1. Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration
2. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Ability to use Microsoft Access, Project, and Visio.
3. Previous healthcare experience.
4. Previous experience in team process development, facilitation, and education.
