Biomedical Engineering Technician jobs in Missouri

Biomedical Engineering Technician delivers biomedical equipment services that provide safety testing, repair, maintenance, and user support of biomedical clinical and research equipment. Assembles, installs, repairs, and maintains a variety of medical equipment. Being a Biomedical Engineering Technician tests the functionality of equipment and takes accuracy, sensitivity, and selectivity measurements to calibrate devices. Coordinates with medical staff and vendors to troubleshoot problems, resolve equipment malfunctions and enable new devices. Additionally, Biomedical Engineering Technician supports medical staff with equipment operations training. Typically requires an associate degree. Typically requires Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Biomedical Engineering Technician works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.     Job Description: RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Perform incoming inspection and periodic inspection on both new and current medical equipment or devices and
    • Perform quality assurance check to assure that equipment conforms to manufacturer literature for components, parts, and performance.
    • Install, Calibrate and Test medical equipment or devices in accordance with manufacturer’s literature, certification to perform installation actions, and/or biomedical engineering department authorization to perform installation.
    • Perform preventive maintenance checks
    • Perform troubleshooting of equipment or device malfunction to determine source or cause of defect or malfunction.
    • Perform scheduled and/or unscheduled maintenance.
    • QUALIFICATIONS

    Required Skills and Experience

    • A Three-year associate degree or higher in an applied science or equivalent military training.
    • Demonstrated competency to perform operational verification procedures, planned maintenance, and repair service on various types of medical equipment.
    • Understanding of regulatory agencies’ requirements, industry regulatory requirements and International Standard Organization standards.
    • Familiarity with the setup and application of test equipment.
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical literature, schematics, and drawings.

    Job Types: Full-time, Contract

    Salary: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
