Biomedical Engineering Technician delivers biomedical equipment services that provide safety testing, repair, maintenance, and user support of biomedical clinical and research equipment. Assembles, installs, repairs, and maintains a variety of medical equipment. Being a Biomedical Engineering Technician tests the functionality of equipment and takes accuracy, sensitivity, and selectivity measurements to calibrate devices. Coordinates with medical staff and vendors to troubleshoot problems, resolve equipment malfunctions and enable new devices. Additionally, Biomedical Engineering Technician supports medical staff with equipment operations training. Typically requires an associate degree. Typically requires Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Biomedical Engineering Technician works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Engineering Technician wanted for busy Civil Engineering-Surveying-Planning-Environmental Services firm in Pittsfield, MA. The ideal candidate would have a degree in Engineering or related field, E.I.T. or S.I.T. certification, 4 years related experience, or a combination of these.
Training is available for a motivated individual with relevant experience who has proven ability to learn and adapt their skills. Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and design-drafting is a plus. Candidate should have strong communication skills. Work will be inside the office and occasionally outdoors in the field.
