    DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    As the Board Administrator, you are responsible for planning, organizing, and executing board and committee functions. As administrative support for the Executive Director, you serve as the initial point of contact for internal and external customers with responsibility for managing the workflow of the Executive Director’s Office, monitoring that deadlines are met and ensuring key items are escalated to the attention of appropriate personnel. You also serve as Travel Coordinator and Corporate Card Coordinator. Examples of work include:
    • Maintaining the Executive Director’s calendar and schedule by coordinating with legislators, Board members, designees, the Third-Party Administrator, the Governor’s administration, outside entities, and agency staff.
    • Generating reports, plans, presentations, and executive correspondence.
    • Collecting, compiling, and organizing information for ad hoc reporting and projects.
    • Handling many board meeting logistics such as coordinating scheduling, submitting meeting notices in accordance with the Sunshine Act, preparing agendas and minutes, compiling board package materials, and uploading content to BoardDocs.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    • Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week.
    • A work schedule beginning and ending between 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, inclusive, with a half-hour or one-hour meal period will be considered, dependent on operational requirements. The requested schedule may not start later than 8:30 AM or end prior to 4:00 PM.
    • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home part-time (hybrid telework schedule) up to 3 days a week depending on operational needs and progress in learning assigned tasks. In order to telework, your alternate work location must be in Pennsylvania, and you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. Otherwise, you must work on-site at the work location specified in this job posting.
    • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

    • This position is located in Dauphin County, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. SERS will not pay for relocation, housing or travel expenses. All applicants must be willing to work in and commute to the Harrisburg, PA location when on-site work is required.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS
    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
    • Five years of progressively responsible experience in secretarial work. Appropriate formal post high school secretarial training may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis up to four years; or
    • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

    • You must be willing to work in and commute to the Harrisburg, PA location when on-site work is required
    • You must possess outstanding communication skills.

    • You must possess superb interpersonal skills and a teamwork mindset.
    • You must be able to perform essential job functions
