General Summary of Duties: Responsible for obtaining all necessary referrals and/or authorizations from the insurance company. Responsibilities also include pre-certifying all outpatient and inpatient surgeries.

Performance Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or GED is required. Graduation from a recognized training facility for medical assistant is preferred.
Experience: Minimum one year experience in a hospital or clinical setting, preferably as a medical assistant or medical receptionist; or one year experience as an appointment screener. Computer experience is required.
