Summary

Wire-Bond is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker, reporting to the Maintenance Manager. The Tool & Die Maker is responsible for the setup and operating of manual mills and lathes, grinders and other machining equipment. Also, the Tool & Die Maker needs to have the ability to build, maintain, sharpen and troubleshoot progressive dies.

Functions and Essential Duties:

• Setup and changeover dies based on production needs.
• Provide verbal updates to management on die status.
• Build, repair and adjust dies and other machine tooling as needed.
• Ability to run grinding machines, milling machines, heat treated ovens and lathes.
• Ability to work with close tolerances.
• Inspect, measure, troubleshoot and adjust/modify process (machinery and tooling) as necessary to maintain production and quality standards.
• Assist in modifications and design of new tooling and dies.
• Adhere to and follow company’s health and safety policies and procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform additional responsibilities and assignments as directed by management.

Education and Required Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED; Tool & Die/Machinist education strongly preferred.
• Two years of CNC Machining experience preferred.
• Ten years of precision measuring and blueprint reading.
• Ten years of manual machining and tool building experience.
• Must have the ability to read, write and understand English in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication to accomplish responsibilities and tasks.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs several times during a shift
• Position requires the ability to stand, bend, reach and stoop

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
