Position Overview:
Under the direction of the President of SyncLync, a Marketing Manager is someone who shows leadership in the development and ongoing implementation of world-class marketing strategies and programs by deploying problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, market research, and process management techniques.
Responsibilities:
Manage the marketing budget:
· Work with the President of SyncLync to develop a budget that maximizes ROI for each project.
· Manage the established channel budget throughout the fiscal year, ensuring the set target as a % of sales is achieved.
Assist with strategic development:
· In partnership with the President, establish a detailed strategic and tactical plan to support and drive the company’s sales goals.
· Stay current on new marketing developments/initiatives that are taking place on the periphery of current business practices (e.g. social media, web traffic, etc)
· Work closely with the product management and sales teams to understand each business segment’s specific needs and strategies.
Maintain and protect the company’s brand standards:
· Keep updated brand standards guides for all owned and licensed brands.
· Communicate brand standards with all international subsidiaries.
Work with the sales team to develop collateral to support respective product lines as needed, including:
· Promotional catalogs and brochures
· Point-of-purchase materials
· Training collateral
· Tradeshow support
· Work with the graphics team to execute best-in-class materials in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Website management
· Responsible for the strategic direction of websites.
· Responsible for maintaining site content.
· Set and execute a plan to maximize sites’ SEO rankings and promotional needs as required.
Develop communication channels:
· Maintain strong communication with the sales, brand management, product, and design teams.
· Participate and present in key sales presentations as needed.
Tradeshows:
· Help manage and coordinate all tradeshows with the sales and product management teams.
Public Relations:
· Work with PR Agency of record to develop an annual PR plan.
· Develop strategies to drive sales through PR, specifically review publications and websites.
· Identify media opportunities; write press releases; and communicate with relevant media and publications.
· Increase brand awareness through high ROI initiatives.
Develop and expand the company’s research initiatives:
· Establish a local user panel.
· Develop research initiatives that support the company’s strategic direction.
· Work with industrial design and engineering to maximize research projects and funding.
Supervisory:
· Responsible for staffing, terminations, disciplinary actions, training, and developing subordinates.
· Responsible for completing adequate performance documentation on time.
Marginal Job Functions:
· Other projects as assigned.
Requirements
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
· Proven leadership and management abilities with the ability to lead a team required.
· Experience in developing and executing marketing strategies required.
· Strong oral and written communication skills required.
· Outstanding market analysis skills required.
· Excellent organizational and computer skills are required.
Other Requirements:
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required.
· Strong computer skills in all Microsoft Office programs preferred.
· Occasional local and domestic travel required.
· Valid driver’s license required.
