Bookkeeper maintains and records a complete and systematic set of business transactions. Balances ledgers, reconciles accounts, and prepares reports to show receipts, expenditures, accounts receivable, and payable. Being a Bookkeeper follows bookkeeping procedures established by the organization. May require an associate degree or equivalent. Additionally, Bookkeeper typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Bookkeeper works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Title: Bookkeeping & Customer Service
Reports to: Alan Chapin
Primary responsibilities and accountabilities, (not limited to):
1. Receivables; Invoicing, deposits, collections
2. Work with accountant for accurate monthly, quarterly and yearly taxes.
3. Sending reports monthly to accountant so taxes can be paid (beginning of month)
4. Preparing financial reports as needed
5. Examine financial records for accuracy (bank statements, vendor invoicing, payables)
6. Ensure that statements and records comply with laws and regulations
7. Keep books and accounting systems up to date
8. Make best-practices recommendations to management
9. Suggest ways to reduce costs, enhance revenues and improve profits
10. Payables and Receivables for customers and vendors
Other responsibilities, (not limited to):
1. Answer phones
2. Schedule and set up files for jobs
3. Work with staff and customers to solve problems
4. Assist team to achieve its goals
