Bookkeeper maintains and records a complete and systematic set of business transactions. Balances ledgers, reconciles accounts, and prepares reports to show receipts, expenditures, accounts receivable, and payable. Being a Bookkeeper follows bookkeeping procedures established by the organization. May require an associate degree or equivalent. Additionally, Bookkeeper typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Bookkeeper works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. The Bookkeeper provides the church with an accurate reporting of its financial position as directed by the Finance Committee and Session. This person will work 10-12 hours per week and reports to the Pastor.
Knowledge of accounting principles, journal entries, debits and credits.
Ability to prepare and understand financial statements.
Must be organized and confidentiality is essential.
Experience in bookkeeping practices.
Proficient with Accounting computer software.
Commitment to Christian faith and life.
