Murken Thompson is an agricultural niche tax and accounting firm located in Swisher, Iowa, just 5 minutes south of Cedar Rapids. We are looking to add a Bookkeeping Specialist position to our growing team. Murken Thompson is a progressive local firm with great potential for growth. Due to the smaller size of our firm, you are not just a number; your voice is an integral part of the operation. We offer a flexible work environment, with a certain amount of workplace autonomy. At Murken Thompson we truly believe in rewarding hard work. Tax season will require longer hours, however, working at Murken Thompson you will enjoy a 4-day (32 hour) workweek for 6 months of the year.

The right candidate for this position will have a solid knowledge of Microsoft Office and will have excellent PC Skills. Quickbooks and PcMars experience is a plus. Job duties will include working with clients, accounting statements, reconciliation, and W-2/1099 preparation, in addition to other accounting work. We are looking for an outgoing candidate who has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, is self-motivated, and has the ability to multi-task effectively.

Job Requirements

· Associates or Bachelor’s degree

· Experience in a professional team environment

· 3 Years Accounting experience required

· Understanding of Balance Sheet, General Ledger, and P&L Statements

· Quickbooks and PcMars preferred
