The Accounting Associate is responsible for managing a portfolio of small businesses whose bookkeeping they own. They are an integral piece of a team that’s helping great customers get an even better experience.

• Responsible for owning the books of small business owners within their portfolio, using Wave software to import and categorize transactions, reconcile their accounts, generate their financial statements, and flag potential bookkeeping issues with their clients
• Provide exceptional customer service and build trusting relationships with clients by demonstrating accounting expertise on review calls and offering timely responses to clients via email
• Meet with their clients on virtual calls on a recurring schedule to review their books and answer bookkeeping-related questions
• Organizational skills required to maintain 35 clients in their portfolio, while managing email communication with clients
• Able to communicate accounting concepts clearly to business owners
• Collaborates with peers and contributes to other members of the team by asking questions and sharing their experience with the team 
• Enthusiastic about accepting new challenges
• Acting as the trusted advisor and accounting department for our small business clients

• Education in Finance, Accounting, or Business
• 1-2 years of general work experience
• Previous experience in cloud accounting
• Previous working experience with small businesses is an asset
• Customer-centric mindset with problem solving skills
• Stellar communication skills
• Attention to detail is critical in this role
• Resourcefulness
