Overview of Bookkeeper Role
Reporting to the CEO and Lead Bookkeeper, you’ll be responsible for monthly bookkeeping responsibilities for client accounts under the direction of the CEO. You will have a front seat in helping manage client accounts and providing stellar client support. You are someone who is highly organized and lights up about numbers – and someone excited about completing bookkeeping tasks that help support clients and their business!
- Time Commitment: 10-15 hours per month, M-Th between the hours of 8a-3p PT. Opportunity to grow to 30 hours per month as the business grows
- Compensation: starting at $25 per hour, based on experience
- Benefits: Flexible schedule
- Location: Anywhere in the United States – this role is fully remote. Preference will be given to candidates in the Pacific Time Zone
- Status: This role is an EMPLOYEE/W2 role. You must be legally authorized to work as a W2 Employee in the United States.
Responsibilities
General Ledger Maintenance
- Bank account, credit card and payroll reconciliations for clients
- Preparation of monthly journal entries
- Seek red flags through the systems and report findings to CEO
- Compile and manage receipts in HubDoc
- Post journal entries as needed
- Review financial reports for accuracy and completeness
- Document transaction details for client
- Compile financial reports
- Prepare for regular and timely management reporting
Client Services
- Serve as the point of contact for our clients, responding to their Slack messages within 24 business hours
- Communicate with clients, including notifying them of accounting errors clearly and promptly
- Answer client follow up questions related to client reports as needed
- Provide the full picture to the client to make informed decisions
- Handle highly sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Work with multiple business owners via email, phone, and video conference
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Facilitate an open and warm environment
Operations and Teamwork
- Submit all reports to CEO for review by the 12th of each month for final review
- Self check all client work before submitting to CEO to ensure accuracy
- Review Click-up recurring tasks and ensure project timelines are accurate
- Meet all deadlines for tasks
- Prepare and attend team meeting weekly
- Perform quarterly time studies
- Develop company SOPs and update as needed
- Offer advice and collaborate with the CEO in regards to product and process development for the company

- You look at the bank accounts of clients as if they are your own
- You take initiative and you know how to figure things out on your own
- You love numbers and are excited about spreadsheets (or, at least, spreadsheets don’t overwhelm you)
- You love technology and are excited about working within the online space
- You’re a self-starter and have strong time management skills
- You are okay with working on your own (actually, you’re excited about it)
- You know how to read financial reports, understand how to draw conclusions from them, and can communicate them to clients effectively.
- You’re passionate about money and serving clients by helping them gain confidence and clarity in their financials
- You’re excited to support an entrepreneur in her business, as well as multiple other entrepreneurs within their finances
