    Higher Ground Youth & Family Services is a non-profit family resource center that was founded in 2013 to provide wrap-around services, family support and community resources to youth and families in Orange County, CA. Higher Ground was founded with a mission of expanding purpose, possibilities, and hope for youth and families living in under-resourced communities.

    Position Summary
    Higher Ground Youth & Family Services is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Grants Administration to lead our grants & donation team. The Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the grants process, including research, proposal development, grant compliance, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in grant administration, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

    Essential Duties

    • Develop and implement strategies to maximize grant revenue and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to the grants administration team, including setting priorities, assigning tasks, and fostering professional development.
    • Oversee the full lifecycle of grants, from identifying funding opportunities to managing reporting requirements.
    • Manage relationships with funders, including government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other sources of grant funding.
    • Lead the development of grant proposals, ensuring they are well-written, compelling, and responsive to funder priorities.
    • Monitor grant budgets and spending to ensure compliance with funder requirements and organizational policies.
    • Regularly collaborate with program staff (e.g. Behavioral Health, Workforce Development, Parent & Youth Development) to ensure that grant-funded activities are implemented effectively and achieve desired outcomes.
    • Stay informed about changes in grant regulations and best practices, and ensure that the organization remains in compliance with relevant requirements.
    • Prepare regular reports on grant activities for senior leadership and the board of directors.
    • Additionally, may be required to perform other tasks and duties as assigned by management.
    Required Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as nonprofit management, public administration, or business administration). Master's degree preferred.
    • At least 4 years of experience in grant administration, with a proven track record of successfully securing and managing grants.
    • Previous experience in a leadership role, with demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
    • Strong understanding of grant regulations and compliance requirements.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and grant management software.
    • Knowledge of fundraising principles and best practices.
    Physical Demands
    The following physical requirements outline the necessary capabilities for an employee to effectively carry out the essential duties of this position. In the execution of job responsibilities, the employee will frequently engage in verbal communication and auditory perception. Additionally, this role mandates precise visual acuity, including the capacity for close-range vision and the ability to focus as required. Tasks may also involve lifting files, accessing filing cabinets, and occasional bending or utilization of a stool for standing purposes. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    Compensation
    The Director of Grant Administration role is a full-time, non-exempt position based in Anaheim, CA. Compensation for this position falls within the range of $66,560-75,000 per year, depending on experience. Occasional local travel within the Orange County area is required to engage with grant funders.
