Purchases new books, coordinates the sale of used books, orders new inventory as needed. Additionally, Bookstore Director - Higher Ed. prepares and manages the staff work schedule so that the store is adequately staffed. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior institutional officer. The Bookstore Director - Higher Ed. manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.     JOB SUMMARY:

    As a Higher Education Sales Representative, you will be responsible for growing the revenue and usage of Pearson’s industry leading digital platforms, MyLab.  You are a highly motivated and analytically minded individual with strong customer facing skills.  You go above and beyond in servicing your customer base and understanding their challenges.  You apply your knowledge of Pearson’s portfolio to inform customers of the continuous improvements in our products and how to best leverage them to engage and inspire their students.​

    You are comfortable with exceeding growth targets and enthusiastic about our products.  You know the potential for better learning outcomes when digital tools are used to activate learning.  You’re a self-motivated individual, competitive and comfortable pushing past comfort zones and being resilient. ​​ In this role, your ability to make long and lasting connections with Pearson customers will be invaluable to creating a customer experience driven by their desired outcomes.  You will also be the connection with our existing customers to drive renewal and retention and to align their needs to the best possible Pearson solution.​

    In this role you will be responsible for creating strategic plans, focusing on winning new business, retaining, and up selling base business, owning the end-to-end sales process, and leveraging internal teams to ensure customers are set up for long term success with digital learning solutions. ​

    As a Higher Education Sales Representative, you will:

    • Demonstrate a strong commitment to a positive, a collaborative, and a team based selling culture by working with direct and indirect team members to achieve goals

    • Work in a fast-past environment with the ability to problem solve & project manage

    • Research and identify potential customers through social selling, including cold calling, networking, and online research

    • Employ effective consultative techniques including pre-call planning and productive questioning strategies that focus on learning outcomes that lead to winning business with a Pearson learning solution

    • Effectively communicate the Pearson value and how it can meet the customer's specific needs

    • Prospect, present, negotiate, and close Pearson digital offerings over the phone, through virtual video meetings, in written communication, and in person when required

    • Demonstrate exceptional organizational & time management skills

    • Maintain product knowledge around Pearson digital offerings, the educational industry, and factors influencing the market environment to provide advantageous insights for customers

    • Exhibit strong knowledge and ability to work within Pearson's customer relationship management system, SalesForce

    • Possess strong analytical skills

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Our Ideal Candidate Demonstrates/Has:

    • 3 years of sales experience with a proven track record of quota achievement within a managed sales territory

    • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience

    • On-line literacy, experience and aptitude to work with new technologies

    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, & emotional intelligence skills

    • Competitive desire to exceed goals and grow territory

    • Strong business planning and prospecting abilities

    • Able to work independently and is self-motivated

    • Willingness to travel

    • Valid driver’s license
