Bookstore Director - Higher Ed. jobs in Louisiana

• The ED Nurse Director reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
• The ED Nurse Director works closely with the other Nursing Managers and members of the Administrative Team.

• Oversee development of ED goals and objectives.
• In collaboration with the CNO, oversees the department budget and ensures that the departments operate within that budget.
• Prepares periodic reports for the CNO relating to departmental objectives and performances.
• Develops policies and procedures designed to ensure appropriate and cooperative functioning within the nursing department.
• Continual organizational practices that demonstrate the values and beliefs of the hospital particularly relating to:
  • Establishing and achieving high performance standards.
  • Prepares work schedules, assigns personnel, evaluates work performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions.
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement activates, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Organizes, directs, and coordinates functions and activities in assigned units.
  • Provides direct patient care, when needed, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialties as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Adjusts staffing to meet needs and provide for adequate coverage of the units
  • Responsible for identifying and initiating necessary actions to resolve problems.
  • Encourages an environment that promotes teamwork.
  • Monitors the productivity of the ED as well as efficiency of staff. Monitors employees’ hours worked versus non-productive hours.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education/experience.
• At least two (2) years of clinical experience in an area of specialty with proven managerial skills.
• Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Louisiana.
• Valid B.C.L.S and A.C.L.S. within six (6) months of hire.
