Bookstore Director - Higher Ed. directs and oversees all activities related to the operation of a university/college bookstore. Purchases new books, coordinates the sale of used books, orders new inventory as needed. Being a Bookstore Director - Higher Ed. ensures that the textbook inventory is aligned with the needs and class schedule of the students. Hires, trains, and supervises employees. Additionally, Bookstore Director - Higher Ed. prepares and manages the staff work schedule so that the store is adequately staffed. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior institutional officer. The Bookstore Director - Higher Ed. manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Bookstore Director - Higher Ed. typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Job Overview:
As a Warehouse Associate at Marissa’s Books & Gifts you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse. You will be responsible for receiving, organizing, and distributing books and other merchandise to our retail location and customers. Attention to detail, organization, and a passion for books are essential for success in this role.Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments of books and merchandise.
- Accurately record received items.
- Organize and maintain warehouse inventory, ensuring proper storage and efficient retrieval.
- Prepare outgoing shipments for delivery to retail locations.
- Assist in inventory counts and audits as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse space.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize warehouse processes and workflow
Experience:
- Prior experience in a warehouse environment preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and move boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Passion for books and literature is a plus.
