Branch Management Trainee participates in a banking management training program designed to provide on-the-job experiential training in the daily operations of a retail branch office. Assists with routine branch opening, closing, customer service, and contributes to other operational tasks and activities. Being a Branch Management Trainee training incorporates multiple areas of banking, including sales, lending, systems operations, staff administration, and business development. Develops broad knowledge and understanding of bank products and policies. Additionally, Branch Management Trainee requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members.     QUALIFICATIONS

    REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor’s degree. Direct experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
    • Supervisory experience.
    • Ability to relate with offenders in firm, fair and empathetic fashion
    • Good communication and interaction skills.
    • Good writing and verbal skills.
    • Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office programs.
    • A current, valid Montana driver’s license.
    • Ability to pass Federal workplace drug and alcohol testing requirements.

    PREFERRED:

    • Experience in management
    • Effective communication skills
    • Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office

    SALARY AND BENEFITS

    The current starting salary for the position is 25.00 per hour, although consideration will be given the successful candidate's experience and educational background.

    Based on DOC funding expectations, it is anticipated all permanent staff as of applicable effective date can anticipate $1.00 increase in July 2024. 

    During the fall 2024 and based on agency financial status at the time, it can be anticipated for review of Cost of Living adjustment. 

    Permanent full-time employees of Alternatives, Inc. are entitled to sick leave, vacation leave, individual health insurance, and retirement benefits. Alternatives, Inc. participates in the State Workers Compensation and Unemployment Insurance plans.

    Permanent part-time employees are entitled to a pro-rata share of benefits based on the percentage of full-time hours worked (full-time = 40 hours per week).

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    General Overview:

    The Management Trainee is directly accountable to the Program Director or designee of Alternatives, Inc.

    Seeking an eager, motivated management trainee to join our growing organization. You’ll be given the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience required for future leadership opportunities.

    The Management Trainee position is an assignment designed to help qualified candidates learn the operations from the ground up and perform hands on work in a variety of departments with the goal to collaborate. Trainee may rotate to different company departments to learn, develop and contribute to department functions. The trainee will learn and develop leadership qualities that allow for future success as a leader in our Company.

    The current position the Management Trainee would be assigned to is our Transitional Living Case Manager - this is a Monday-Friday position.

     

    General Requirements:

    1. All employees of Alternatives, Inc. are responsible for reading and complying with standards and procedures in the following documents:

    b. Standard Operating Procedures

    Specific Duties:

     

    Transitional Living Duties:                                                                                                                                                     

    • Oversee all aspects of the Transitional Living (TL) program providing support, case management, and guidance to residents while monitoring all aspects of participation in Passages and Alpha House Programs.
    • Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings with clients in TL program.
    • Travel between Passages and Alpha House with offices at both facilities, as necessary.
    • Coordinate with Screening and Disciplinary Coordinator at each facility. Communicate screening results with clients as needed.
    • Facilitate TL Orientation.
    • Review and Approve initial TL resident schedules and/or changes to schedule.
    • Complete necessary employment verification checks of TL clients.
    • Supervise resident activities in the center, maintaining an awareness of residents’ attitudes and whereabouts through regular interactions which includes informal contact with residents.
    • Maintain the facility rules as an alcohol and drug free environment by implementing prescribed procedures for urinalysis and Alco-sensor testing.
    • Assist with community spot checks as staffing and time allow.
    • Assist with other Case Management loads as needed, based on current TL case load.
    • Complete required collateral contacts monthly. 
    • Review client medications weekly.
    • Facilitate resident transition to community by developing and maintaining contacts with local Probation and Parole Office.
    • Review all screened residents weekly for transfer to the TL caseload when ready to apartment search and prepare for Transitional Living. 
    • Review the Transitional Living rules with the resident and have them sign prior to releasing the resident to Transitional Living. 
    • Assist clients in locating possible housing options for Transitional Living. 
    • Prepare all forms and reports necessary for Transitional Living Placement.
    • Ensure termination reports and termination checklists are completed to accommodate communication with Probation and Parole. Coordinate transfer date to community with P&P.
    • Coordinate with P&P office as necessary to conduct home searches.

    • Support teams in functional tasks and work products.
    • Leverage subject matter expert knowledge to collaborate with all departments.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with peers and management of Alternatives.
    • Coach team members to develop necessary skills.
    • Assists in staffing selection during assignment, as directed and needed.
    • Demonstrate effective communication skills, exhibiting a strong level of professionalism with focus on a welcoming approach and customer service.
    • Demonstrate teamwork by supporting and assisting peers and leaders.
    • Demonstrate a growth mindset.
    • Demonstrate creative thinking and problem solving.
    • Present as a team player with strong collaboration skills.
    • Attend meetings as directed.
