    SUMMARY:

    Reports to the Retail Manager and assists in the operation of the branch office. Provides specific lending, operational and member service functions as delegated by the Retail Manager, including direct supervision of the branch staff, as may be determined from time to time. Assumes full responsibility for the operation of the branch during any absence of the Retail Manager.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Responsible for all or part of the duties and responsibilities involved in scheduling and staffing, training, assignment of duties, timely completion of duties, cash letter preparation, and returned item processing in accordance with policies, and procedures established by credit union.
    • Performs such duties as necessary to assist subordinates during peak times to ensure consistent quality service is provided to the membership.
    • Orders cash and ensures cash levels are in conformance with bonding limits. Ensures all teller transactions (cash, checks, other forms of funds) are balanced daily.
    • Ensures that all internal audit policies and procedures are implemented and maintained to meet the requirements established by management and our internal audit program.
    • Interviews and provides members with information to create awareness of the credit union products; processes a variety of functions related to the initiation of or maintenance to financial services such as: share and share draft accounts, IRAs, share certificates, consumer loans and all other services provided by the credit union.
    • Personally interviews loan applicants and requests specified information for loan applications.
    • Examines, evaluates and authorizes or recommends approval of borrower's applications for consumer credit. Processes loans in accordance with sound underwriting practices as provided in policy and procedure.
    • Ensures loan documents are complete and accurate according to policy and lending procedure.
    • Analyzes lending opportunities to provide the member with the most appropriate loans and all other services that will enhance member relationships while meeting credit union goals.
    • Prepares and maintains spreadsheets and other reports as assigned.
    • Performs such other duties as may be delegated by the Retail Manager.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Assists Retail Manager is the supervision of employees in the dialog environment. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting with training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

    Must have in-depth knowledge of all credit union services, operational policies and procedures, and is able to communicate this knowledge effectively to staff and members. Displays leadership ability plus a professional attitude and appearance at all times.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus one to three years related experience and/or training in a full service financial institution; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as credit bureau reports, policy and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively with borrowers and other employees of organization.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    Ability to operate general office machines and equipment such as personal computer, photocopier and fax machine.
