OFFICE MANAGER - The District Office of Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (IL-14) seeks an organized and proactive professional to serve in an office manager role based in Joliet, IL. The annual salary range for this role is $55,000-$60,000, dependent on experience and qualifications. Essential strengths of ideal candidates include exceptional customer service skills, close attention to detail and time management, strong writing and communication skills, an interest in community outreach work, and the ability to prioritize and follow through on multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time, in-person position.
Responsibilities include working with the District Director to manage office operations including ensuring the opening and closing of the district offices; answering phones and greeting guests; monitoring and ordering supplies; managing and tracking equipment; and connecting constituents with resources. Additional responsibilities include managing the internship program; leading special projects; supporting outreach activities and events; staffing the Member; drafting briefing memos, remarks, and other communications; and other duties as assigned.
A valid U.S. driver’s license is required for the position, as is availability for occasional weekend and evening work to support community events and outreach taking place at those times.
