JOB DESCRIPTION: Branch Specialist I
WAGE CLASSIFICATION: GRADE 5 NON-EXEMPT
LOCATION: MAIN OFFICE
REPORTS TO: BRANCH MANAGER/ ASSISTANT MANAGER
SUPERVISES: NO SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
JOB SUMMARY
Negotiate cash items, deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments. Basic cash operating procedures, which entail counting and documenting cash that is given or received via customer or vault transactions. New account knowledge, opening, closing and maintenance of accounts.
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete all daily and monthly duties
- Ability to assist with verifying cash sold to and from the branch.
- Watch for stop payments, restrictions, dormant accounts, delay of availability and messages on teller machine.
- Requires the ability to count and document cash received in teller drawer
- Receive deposits and issue withdrawals on checking and savings accounts
- Requires the ability to process loan payments.
- Ability to assist customers with any discrepancies with their accounts
- Requires the ability to complete all daily and monthly duties
- Requires the ability to work in a cooperative manner with supervisor, co-workers and others in the office.
- Assist the Branch Manager with balancing duties.
- Ability to assist with balancing branch vault.
- Assist with accepting and verifying cash from Brinks.
- Ability to follow policies, procedures and rules of AuburnBank.
- Print counter checks for customers; print out temporary statements for customers.
- Statement reconcilement (going over problems with customers as they try to balance their statement).
- Accept stop payment requests from customers; enter stop payments on the system.
- Provide letters of account verification upon request.
- Complete affidavits of forgery and transactional dispute forms for customers.
- Serve ATM/Check card customers by issuing cards and correcting problems.
- Assist customers with changes of address.
- Assist with telephone inquiries and complete telephone transfers for customers.
- Explain and assist customers with preparing proper forms for personal and merchant VISA applications and forwarding completed forms to the appropriate departments, as needed.
- Place old printouts, etc. in the shred bin for Building and Grounds to transfer to the Main Office.
- Handling incoming and outgoing wires.
ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Require basic computer knowledge including the ability to create and modify an Excel spreadsheet.
- Teller drawer must be maintained with an excellent balancing record
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Ability to follow policies, procedures and rules of AuburnBank.
- Requires prolonged standing or sitting.
- Requires frequent bending or stooping.
- May require transporting from place to place up to 50 pounds.
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
- Requires the ability to converse and distinguish letters, symbols or numbers.
- Requires manual dexterity of office equipment.
- Requires vision and hearing range with or with out corrective measures.

EDUCATION AND EQUILIVANT:

- 2 Years Cash Handling Experience Highly Preferred

Inherent duty and responsibility to make recommendations to supervisor concerning possible methods to improve department.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Responsible to the Branch Manager for the fulfillment of functions, responsibilities, and authority and for they’re proper interpretations.
Will have extensive contact with customers and the public and is to conduct relationships in a manner that will enhance the overall marketing effort of the bank.
Will be called upon from time to time to participate with community organizations and in community projects.
