Branch Review Specialist conducts branch internal audits to determine whether business controls are sufficient and effectively executed in accordance with bank policies and procedures. Tests established procedures to ensure operational efficiency within branch offices. Being a Branch Review Specialist determines whether branches are performing their planning, accounting, custodial, or business control activities in compliance with management instructions, policies, and procedures. Evaluates functions and activities in assigned areas to determine the nature of operations and the adequacy of systems to achieve established objectives. Additionally, Branch Review Specialist recommends corrective actions and improvements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Branch Review Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.   • Summary: Appraisal Review Specialist

    Availability: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm - Springfield


    • Perform reviews of either commercial or consumer appraisals to verify compliance with both USPAP and FIRREA regulations as well as the bank’s internal policy.
    • Validate the methodology used in the appraisal review process to determine how the final value was reached. Propose solutions to identified appraisal deficiencies.
    • Perform in-house evaluations and assist in construction inspections, as needed.
    • Assists in guiding all levels of management and bank staff relative to the risk management of complex real estate collateral to ensure protection of the bank’s interests in the matters of real estate evaluations.
    • Reviewing transaction information to understand the risk profile and determine the appropriate level of due diligence required to meeting regulatory and policy standards.
    • Responding to inquiries from bank staff involving appraisal policy and compliance with laws and regulations.
    • Reviewing the qualifications and sample reports of appraisers seeking to be added to the corporate approved appraiser list and recommending deleting those not meeting policy standards.
    • Work with loan officers and the credit team on valuation issues and concerns.
    • Keeps up to date about national, industry specific and local commercial real estate market trends.
    • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
