Job Title: Team Leader

Reports to: Plant Manager

FLSA: Non-exempt

Salary: $20/hour

Schedule: Swing Shift 7a-7p. (The shift is 12 hours, rotating weekends; one week the schedule is 36 hours, the next week the schedule is 48 hours).

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to effectively manage a team to meet production targets while maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Ability to motivate and inspire people to work to the best of their ability and as part of the team.
• Arrives 30 minutes prior to start of shift to ensure machine(s) set-up and ready to run production
• Ensures all materials needed to run production are there
• May make minor adjustments to machinery
• Work to ensure people and resources are applied in an efficient and effective manner to meet delivery requirements while achieving quality and safety standards
• Communicate with clarity, making sure all employees understand what they should be doing at all times
• Responsible for knowing manufacturing, quality and safety procedures and/or standards and ensuring workers comply

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a similar role
• Excellent people and active listening skills
• Ability to gain trust and confidence from others
• Mechanical aptitude
• Use of hand tools
• Forklift certified or able to become certified
• Fluent in English

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds repeatedly
• Must have the manual dexterity required to do the job
• Standing for long periods of time on hard surfaces, lifting and carrying objects, stooping, squatting, bending, kneeling, and reaching
• Vision abilities include- near vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral; vision, depth perception and ability to adjust/ focus
• All work is performed in a noisy, non-temperature-controlled environment
• Safety composite toed shoes or steel toed boots/shoes must be worn in production areas while production is running; safety glasses are required.
