Human Resource Representative - Classification Specialist
Position Overview
The State Universities Civil Service System (Civil Service) has an opening for a full-time entry-level generalist to work as a Classification Specialist. The position will be part of the Classification, Examination, and Compensation (CEC) Division Team. This position will conduct research and analysis regarding job descriptions and qualifications, test development, the allocation of job titles, duties, and responsibilities within an established employment plan for the state public university system. This position will also collaborate with and provide guidance and assistance to outside experts in various fields and other Human Resource professionals.
The successful applicant will have a general knowledge of various office and business activities associated with this occupational area. The successful candidate will also be able to work toward reaching identified outcomes while recognizing potential problems; and will be able to explore options to follow existing procedures and rules to accomplish complex, multi-part, time-sensitive tasks.
Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Some combination of two years of:
a. coursework in human resource administration, business administration, or a closely related field; and/or
b. progressively more responsible work experience creating, maintaining, and monitoring records and reports, including but not limited to human resources and other business and office records.
