To provide case management services for victims of sexual abuse, physical abuse, witnesses to violence, at risk of being trafficking or a victim of trafficking; and their non-offending family members involved in the Chenango Child Advocacy Center.

• Maintain strict standards of confidentiality.
• Work with Chenango County to provide parents, families, individuals and youth who have experienced victimization with;
  • Advocacy & Crisis Counseling
  • One on one education/independent living skills
  • Information & Referrals
  • Assistance with food/clothing
  • Provision of basic needs
  • Case management
• Maintain contact with the victim and family throughout the investigation and prosecution.
• Assist families in filing for victim compensation (OVS claims).
• Maintain accurate and thorough client records.
• Attend case review and follow through with any recommendations of the team that would require the services of the advocate and enter appropriate information into the database from case review.
• Provide documentation of services provided and report data collection as required.
• Provide a psychosocial assessment and an individualized service plan for each client/family.
• Work with community partners including multidisciplinary team members.
• Assis in facilitating educational programming as needed including occasional evening/weekend programming.
• Provide direct assistance to victims/family members of trafficking and child abuse in Chenango County on an on-call basis.
• Assist in coverage of the CAC and other departments as needed.
• Preform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Other duties as assigned may include, but are not limited to:

Provide back-up coverage as well as after-hours and weekend on-call accompaniment for adult and child victims as per agency rotation schedule.

A Bachelor’s Degree in a human service field is preferred. Thorough knowledge of domestic and sexual violence including child abuse. Strong planning, organizational, time management, and administrative skills, strong interpersonal, oral communication and written skills, ability to solve complex problems and demonstrate critical thinking, ability to work independently, strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, ability to develop a positive compassionate rapport with victims of domestic violence, sexual assault or other violent trauma. Appreciation and respect for other cultures and people of diverse backgrounds. One to three years’ experience in direct service/case management and program management.

• Valid NY State driver’s license, transportation and insurance required.

• Microsoft Office computer skills required.
• Exemplary oral and written skills required.

Must agree to complete 40 hours NY State Dept. of Health training and additional ten hours of ongoing, professional education each subsequent calendar year.
