Breast Center Manager manages the day-to-day operations of one or more mammography clinics. Responsibilities may include staffing, training, scheduling, budgeting, and marketing for the clinic(s). Being a Breast Center Manager may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a director. The Breast Center Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES PER AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
1. Communicates any provider concerns or issues directly with the provider whenever possible or consults immediately with their director or VP, keeping them in the loop. Does not wait to be rounded on to share concerns. Participates in provider annual performance evaluations as requested by director or VP.
2. Caring for newborn and maternity patients, utilizing the nursing process to include transcribing and completing all physician orders and promoting wellness through patient education.
3. Insuring that proper supplies and equipment are accessible at all times.
4. Assisting staff with emergencies in other nursing units when possible.
5. Confers with Medical director about maternity issues, assists with agenda for OB committee meetings.
6. Participates with the VP of Nursing in recruiting and dismissing staff as requested.
7. Establishes a meaningful performance improvement program for the unit.
8. Schedules/staffing OB and nursery staff.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises approximately fifteen full-time, part-time, and PRN employees. Carries out
supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing
work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and
resolving problems.
