Breast Center Manager manages the day-to-day operations of one or more mammography clinics. Responsibilities may include staffing, training, scheduling, budgeting, and marketing for the clinic(s). Being a Breast Center Manager may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a director. The Breast Center Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Breast Center Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.   • RN Breast Care Facilitator and Educator is currently a part time position up to 56 hours per pay period. The role is unique and combines a wide range of responsibilities, including case management, patient education, patient advocacy, running support groups and coordinating care for patients between facilities and providers.

    Qualifications:

    Possess either a) a minimum of 2 years of broad based RN experience inclusive of a minimum of 1 year fulltime experience as a registered nurse providing breast cancer treatment, including pharmaco- and chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery, OR b) a Master’s degree in Nursing with a concentration in either Patient Education or Oncology Nursing Breast Care Education from an accredited institution.

    Possess a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, a Graduate Diploma in Nursing, or an Associate Degree in Nursing, from an accredited agency such as the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

    Possess and maintain a current unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in any of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Coordinate key information between patient, and health care providers at local and regional level for breast health issues, i.e. screening, mammograms, physical examinations and laboratory results.

    Facilitate consultative services between local MTFs and other treatment facilities and assist providers with appropriate support related to TRICARE Regional Breast Care.

    Assess the patient’s clinical and psychosocial status, diagnosis, and current treatment plan.

    Conduct public awareness and educational programs for women’s health issues.

    Coordinate the myriad of patient medical treatments, referrals, and education at the time the patient is under significant stress.

    Perform Marketing to promote breast awareness and health, to reach target population of female active duty members. Provide nursing advice and consultation in person and via telephone to patients/family members/significant others.

    Assess and update regional databases related to breast cancer prevention and diagnosis to ensure compliance with TRICARE health standards.

    Facilitate and participate in tumor conferences that provide ongoing evaluation of interdisciplinary dynamics, goal attainment, and treatment plan revision.

    Coordinate and evaluate the patient’s and family’s use of resources and services in a quality-conscious, cost-effective manner.

    Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (Example: Case worker, Utilization Management Staff, social worker, Director for Business and Managed Care, Director for Clinical Services, Radiologist, Primary Care Manager) community agencies, and other providers to ensure continuity of the patient’s care through all healthcare settings and adherence to the command’s business plan.

    Use interpersonal communication strategies with individuals, as well as groups of patients/families/significant others and staff that result in the achievement of intended outcomes and others’ expressed perception of acceptance/satisfaction.

    Plan care based on the patient needs and health care needs, at home and in the health care setting. Utilize nursing interpretations to alert physicians to significant changes or abnormalities and provide medical information about the patient’s condition, medical history and specialized treatment plan or protocol to other professional staff.

    Assist in updating and revising the BCE protocols annually, and when deemed necessary, by providing technical expertise.

    Pay: $47.00 - $52.00 per hour
