Breast Center Manager manages the day-to-day operations of one or more mammography clinics. Responsibilities may include staffing, training, scheduling, budgeting, and marketing for the clinic(s). Being a Breast Center Manager may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a director. The Breast Center Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Breast Center Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.     Position is responsible for scheduling patient appointments, ensuring medical necessity compliance, verifying eligibility, and posting payments.

    Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to perform all job related activities as outlined below and provide care appropriate to the patient served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as it relates to the different life cycles. Specific age groups that are served by this point are circled.

    • Pediatric
    • Adolescent
    • Adult
    • Adult/Geriatric

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Schedules patient appointments and enters all required information in the computer system in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Obtains demographic, insurance and financial information from patient or guarantor. Enters information in computer system with a high degree of accuracy.
    • Explains all required forms to the patient or guarantor and obtains the necessary signatures.
    • Ensures medical necessity compliance by obtaining necessary data, reviewing Compliance System, communicating information to patient or guarantor and obtaining necessary signatures.
    • Protects the financial integrity of the facility by collecting patient liability, establishing payment arrangements, discussing payment options and screening for eligibility (information to be verified by outside billing company prior to patient arriving.)
    • The ability to post payment information in the computer system and generate the appropriate patient receipts and complete deposit process.
    • Monitors, reviews and the ability to resolve patient scheduling issues on assigned reports.
    • Communicates in an effective and professional manner with Physicians, ancillary departments, physicians’ office staff, insurance companies, as well as patients and their families (all Patient Access customers). Completes thorough and accurate documentation.
    • Adheres to all TOPS Surgical Specialty Hospital policies, procedures, and standards, within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, productivity, and accuracy of practice.
    • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
    • Performs other related duties as directed.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High school graduate or GED.
    • Two years of experience in a hospital or customer service setting.
    • Ability to multi-task.
    • Proficient typing/keyboarding skills.
    • Demonstrates commitment to the Edge process by integrating both Behaviors and Operating Principles in all internal and external customer interactions. Performs duties with accountability, competency, innovation, collaboration, compassion and respect to create the best possible outcomes with exceptional customer experiences.
