Job Description:
Cimarron is seeking Interceptor Technicians to support the Ground Based Mid-Course Defense (GMD) program at Fort Greely, AK. The GMD System is operationally capable to defend the homeland against long-range ballistic missile attacks. The selected candidates for this position will support GS Silo Retrofit. The selected candidates for this position must be able to work the 1st or 2nd shift and must be willing to work 6 days per week. This is an onsite position.
Key Duties:
- Assemble, disassemble, and/or modify systems by changing, removing, replacing, or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to accurate failures or implementing changes.
- Assist with performing test and maintenance procedures that support missile ground processing.
- Work on and around ordnance, after company-provided training and certification have been completed.
- Assist with assembly, disassembly, or overhaul.
- Configure aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
- Solve problems related to sophisticated pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
- Perform validation/verification testing of systems and components.
- Document procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results)
- Inspect components and verify repairs for flight-worthiness requirements.
- Resolve and correct complex problems during operations, maintenance, and overhaul of (GMD) Ground-based Defense system/sub-system components.
- Work on a small team for assembly, disassembly, or overhaul functions to ensure adequacy, accuracy, and thoroughness of product assembly, disassembly, and overhauls.
- Inspect components before installation or usage to verify the cleanliness and serviceability of components.
- Assist engineering and field support representatives to rectify discrepancies found by technicians.
- Work as a team member on various 35 Ton Boom truck lift operations.
- Perform routine and complex functional/diagnostic tests and troubleshoot electrical/mechanical systems, using monitoring instruments and bench/automated test equipment, to determine the root cause of initial or isolated failures.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
- Cimarron employees are required to follow federal, state, and local laws regarding COVID-19 practices, as well as customer requirements.
- Active Interim Secret clearance or higher.
- 3 or more years of experience integrating and testing spacecraft, missiles, aircraft, and/or complex systems.
- 1 or more years of experience assembling, repairing, and testing mechanical and electrical components and systems.
- Ability to ascend and descend vertical work ladders continually throughout the workday, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds continually throughout the workday.
- Ability to pass complete fall protection training, work at heights of seventy feet or more, and not exceed weight restrictions.
- Ability to maintain certifications for Ordnance, Confined Space, Fall Protection, ESD, Bonding & Grounding, Torque, Mate-Demate, and Electrical Safety.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Active Secret clearance.
- Experience working on the Ground Based Mid-Course Defense (GMD) System.
- Experience working with ordnance/rocket motors.
- Experience with AHU/HVAC systems.
- Ability to operate a Forklift, truck-mounted crane, and other associated heavy equipment.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (A or B).
