    Qualifications

    Position Summary:

    The Community Relations Representative serves as the liaison between the facility, the community and referring agencies. The Community Relations Representative is directly responsible for creating demand for the facility's services thorough the effective application of ethical marketing principles and sales methods. Their primary goal will be to increase facility referrals while minimizing competitive threats. Key objectives are to inform, educate and communicate our programs and services to hospitals, physician offices, mental health professionals, outpatient centers, social service organizations, court systems and other referral sources as designated. This position directly reports to the Director of Business Development at Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System.

    The Community Relation Representative is responsible for the implementing the facility's strategic sales plan, enhancing the facility's brand/image, effectively managing their assigned territory and accounts, and works to achieve the facility's business development goals. The Community Relations Representative must be able to demonstrate tact, resourcefulness, patience and dedication.

    This position involves daily travel in a defined geographic territory to meet with contacts with primary referral sources including hospitals, crisis centers, psychiatrists, psychologists, mental health and substance use professionals, other physicians, and other community resources. Contributes to the analysis of facility's competitors within territory including programs, bed availability, SWOT, go-to-market strategy and, parent company, if applicable.

    Hours are based on departmental and facility needs and may include day, evening and weekend hours, as directed by the Director of Business Development.

    Education and/ or experience: A Bachelor's Degree in a marketing, business, or related field required.

    Experience: Minimum of three years experience in health care business development/marketing environment with measurable business development results, and a knowledge of psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment principles.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Generating calls into the facility for all program service lines thorough the effective application of ethical marketing principles and sales methods.
    • Develops and maintains an updated profile of assigned accounts with current activity.
    • Effectively maximizes field-based time while maintaining a daily average of 8-10 individual, face-to-face contacts with assigned referral sources concerning facility programs, philosophies of treatment, and clinical outcomes and satisfaction data.
    • Accurately qualifies accounts as A, B, or C for business potential.
    • Develops a strategic plan on a quarterly basis to implement within assigned territory.
    • Utilizes industry, competitor and census data/information to identify markets and customers within territory to develop business.
    • Exhibit at local conferences/trade shows to promote service lines and execute customer contacts.
    • Attends and actively participates in the Business Development team meetings and provides appropriate marketing reports, updates, and Service Recovery opportunities to the Director of Business Development on a timely basis.
    • Demonstrates ability to develop and communicate appropriate sales messaging for each program offered and for each target audience.
    • Responsible for maintaining up-to-date information in MedSeries 4/MIDAS/MEDIK, including daily/weekly required documentation and accurate account information.
