Job Position: IS Data Analyst
Purpose: The Data Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting our company’s decision-making process by analyzing data and providing actionable insights. This position is integral to the success of our business units by delivering comprehensive analytics and reporting solutions. The IS Data Analyst will work closely with teams across various departments, including Business Development and Sales, Operations, and Finance, to enhance our data-driven strategy. This role reports to the Director of IT within the Information Systems department.
Responsibilities
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Lead the development and maintenance of data analytics platforms tailored for company, division, and department-specific needs. Create and manage PowerBI dashboards, custom dashboards, reports, and interactive visualizations for presentations.
- Data Management: Oversee the development, configuration, and management of our Data Warehouse/Data Lake, including data integration and transformation. Manage databases and execute data collection and processing, focusing on data cleansing, consolidation, mining, and predictive analytics.
- Project Management: Participate in various project duties as assigned, ensuring timely and effective delivery of data analysis projects.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of new and existing data standards and procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy across all data-related activities.
- Professional Development: Engage in continuous learning through training, research, online courses, and workshops to stay ahead of the latest trends and technologies in data analysis.
Qualifications
While specific qualifications are guidelines rather than strict requirements, ideal candidates will possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- 1-2 years of experience in data analysis or a similar role is preferred.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, especially PowerBI, and a strong understanding of databases (SQL, etc.).
- Experience with data warehouse and data lake technologies, as well as data integration, transformation, and predictive analytics.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with multiple levels of the organization and articulate data-driven insights.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating proactive problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, walk, and sit for long periods of time
- Must be capable of working in inclement conditions to include extreme hot and cold temperatures.
- Must be physically capable of manually digging & back-filling holes and trenches.
- Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 80 lbs.
