Budget Manager manages and coordinates budgeting activities and the implementation of the organization's budget policies and guidelines. Monitors actual performance against estimates and prepares annual and interim budgets. Being a Budget Manager coordinates budget appropriations and responds to exception requests for funds. Monitors and analyzes performance against budgets. Additionally, Budget Manager implements and supports tools and reporting used for planning, forecasting, monitoring, and decision support. Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting. Typically reports to a director. The Budget Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Budget Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.       • Analyze historical financial data and trends to assist in the preparation of accurate and realistic budget projections.
    2. Grant Funding Management:
      • Monitor and track funds received from federal, state, and private grantors.
      • Ensure compliance with grant requirements and regulations, providing timely and accurate financial reports to grantors as needed.
    3. Financial Analysis:
      • Conduct regular financial analyses to identify variances, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
      • Make recommendations to management based on financial findings to enhance overall financial performance.
    4. Expense Control:
      • Work closely with department heads to review and control expenditures, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints and organizational goals.
      • Provide guidance on cost-saving measures without compromising service quality.
    5. Reporting and Documentation:
      • Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and analyses for management and key stakeholders.
      • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of budget-related processes and decisions.
    6. Collaboration and Communication:
      • Collaborate with various departments to understand their financial needs and challenges.
      • Communicate effectively with grantors, ensuring transparency and compliance with funding requirements.
    7. Risk Management:
      • Identify potential financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
      • Stay informed about changes in funding regulations and adjust financial strategies accordingly.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
    • Proven experience as a Budget Analyst, preferably in a healthcare or non-profit setting.
    • Familiarity with federal, state, and private grant regulations and reporting requirements.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficient in financial management software and Microsoft Excel.
    • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work.
